I apply this principle to a country. If India should not be having relationship with Iran and Iraq as both of this countries support terrorism then we won't get oil and India will suffer.

aathissodi is basically told by avvai for children so that they get good habits. It applies to adults too but, we shall not equate to relation between countries ..
say for example: avvaiyaar likes adhiyamaan very much and he gave nellikani to him.. but avvaiyar herself is a friend and she moves with thondaimaan who is the enemy of adhiyamaan..
look in sivagaamiyin sabadham, where mahendra pallavan to protect his country has friendship with the king of vatapi who is a moorkan and play tricks.

Infact in the same sivagamiyin sabatham, mahendra pallavan by not eing harsh to the king of vatapi, had many losses incl sivagami..
